“Siempre es Hoy: A Photographic Exhibition of Musical Proportions”, is a first-of -its-kind art show featuring the work of Artists/Photographers documenting the Latin Alternative/Rock en Español music scene around the world, who honor the tradition of acknowledging music as a central and integral part of our cultural experiences.

The show's title, “Siempre es Hoy”, pays homage to Gustavo Cerati who unfortunately is in a coma. It is also a nod to the nature of photography itself.

The Noche de Altares is held in Downtown Santa Ana (4th & Broadway streets are closed to traffic) where alternative and traditional community altares go up, young musicians of every stripe, from punk bands to traditional jaraneros, set up shop at street corners, and Latino-inspired food vendors cater to the thousands of visitors, adding a unique flavor to the festive and urban atmosphere of the event.

This is the first Latin Alternative / Rock en Español-themed art exhibit in California and it is the first of its kind shown at an art venue of the magnitude and prestige of The Orange County Center for Contemporary Arts (OCCCA).

Botellita de Jerez, Artist: La Madre is Watching/Peru

The scope of photographers featured in the exhibit range from the up and coming to the well established, hailing from the US, México, Spain and Argentina. Some of the images on display include iconic portraits of Gustavo Cerati, Julieta Venegas, Gustavo Santaolalla's BajoFondo and Café Tacvba.
