Leslie Davis

Artist Statement

My passion for glass as a medium began at an early age. As a child i was fascinated by the interaction of light and glass and the exploration of this interaction has provided the foundation for my work.

The interaction between light, movement and change is reflected in my art and my life as an artist. Working with glass requires executing carefully choreographed movements with the strength and fluidity of a dancer. Like a dancer, the glass artist forges a balance between process and outcome. I have conceptualized my pieces as the framing of process, which precedes their creation and continues in the viewer's emotion and comprehension.
