Music Performance by: Yellow Red Sparks and Sunny War

Concerts @ OCCCA: Fri November 21st 8pm
David Aguilar & Taller Sur

David Aguilar: David Aguilar is one of the most versatile, creative and groundbreaking contemporary singer-songwriters to come out of Mexico’s independent scene. This playful genre-bender masterfully blends contemporary acoustic tunes with complex lyrical experimentations and catchy yet multi-layered melodies. David’s eclectic sound emerges from the intersection between Latin-American folk, Brazilian bossa, flamenco, pop, norteño, traditional Mexican songs, bolero, among others. It is this unique convergence of rhythms and the highly poetic writings in his songs that make David Aguilar one of the most promising voices of contemporary Latin American song.

Taller Sur: Taller Sur is made up of Ruby CastellanosWilly Ortega and Victor El Campos Salinas. The group starts out as an experimental workshop of singer-songwriters defusing song of authors, trova, and bohemian music in southern California. They offer a variety and fusion of distinct musical influences in interpretation and composition. Also introducing a place where you can listen to their songs, as well as songs written by other Latin composers, since December 2005
